Transparency is important to us. On this page we document the origin of images, graphics and icons used on our website. All media are either our own productions, created by commissioned photographers or come from licensed sources. If necessary, copyright notices are added directly to the image, in the alternative text or in the page footer. This page is continually updated.

Principles for image use

We use images and graphics exclusively in accordance with applicable copyright law and the respective license conditions. Our goal is a serious, patient-understandable presentation of orthopedic topics, our practice rooms in Hamburg and our team - without misleading motifs or inadmissible editing.

  • Reputable sources: own recordings, commissioned photography, established image databases and licensed icon libraries
  • Clear identification: Copyright and license information on the image or on this overview page, if required
  • Gentle editing: cropping, color and brightness adjustments for better readability; no falsifying manipulations
  • Data protection and consent: Images of recognizable people only with documented, revocable consent

Sources and Licenses

The following categories cover the typical image sources on our website. If necessary, specific authors will also be named directly on the image or in the page footer.

  • Own photos: team and practical photos, location Dorotheenstraße 48, 22301 Hamburg. Rights holder: our practice (all rights reserved).
  • Commissioned Photography: Photographs taken by professional photographers. Labeling according to specifications, e.g. E.g. “Photo: Photographer/Studio Name”.
  • Stock photos and videos: Licensed through established providers, including Adobe Stock (https://stock.adobe.com/de/license-terms), iStock by Getty Images (https://www.gettyimages.de/eula), Shutterstock (https://www.shutterstock.com/de/license), Unsplash (https://unsplash.com/license), Pexels (https://www.pexels.com/de-de/license/), Freepik (https://www.freepik.com/legal).
  • Icons and symbol libraries: e.g. B. Material Symbols (https://fonts.google.com/icons, Apache License 2.0), Font Awesome (https://fontawesome.com/license/free), Heroicons (https://github.com/tailwindlabs/heroicons/blob/master/LICENSE, MIT), Feather Icons (https://github.com/feathericons/feather/blob/master/LICENSE, MIT).
  • Illustrations: e.g. B. unDraw (https://undraw.co/license), Storyset by Freepik (https://storyset.com/). License and attribution obligations are observed.

If our license agreements contain image IDs or specific usage restrictions, we document these internally. Upon request, we will provide you with image IDs or license details, if permitted by license law.

Specific evidence by media type

The list below describes how image credits are handled for typical media types. In case of doubt, the labeling directly on the image or in the page footer is decisive.

  • Practical and team photos: in-house production or commissioned photography; all rights reserved. Recording locations: Practice rooms Dorotheenstraße 48, 22301 Hamburg.
  • Medical illustrations: licensed graphics from trusted sources depending on the subject; Attribution obligation will be met if required.
  • Hamburg and surrounding area impressions: stock material with the corresponding standard or extended license; City views are used for editorial illustration.
  • Icons and UI graphics: from the libraries mentioned under “Sources and Licenses”; If necessary, mention the license in the source code and here on the overview page.
  • Treatment-related symbolic photos: usually stock motifs; no connection to specific patient data.

Notes on further use

The contents of this website are protected by copyright. Any further use of our images, graphics or icons is not permitted without prior written consent, unless expressly permitted in individual cases by an appropriate license (e.g. certain Creative Commons licenses).

  • No automatic takeover: Downloads, copies or republications are not permitted without consent.
  • Pay attention to license requirements: If an image is included under an open license, the terms and conditions apply (e.g. attribution, license linking, reference to modifications).
  • Logos and brands: Our practice logo and any partner or manufacturer brands are separately protected; Use is not permitted unless written permission has been given.
  • Image editing by third parties: Even with permitted use, editing restrictions may apply; please note the respective license.

Creative Commons: correct attribution

When we use media with a Creative Commons license, we follow the TASL rule for correct attribution.

  • Title: State the title of the work, if stated.
  • Author: State the author's name and, if available, a link to the profile page.
  • Source: Provide link to original source.
  • License: State the license name including a link to the license (e.g. CC BY 4.0) and indicate whether changes have been made.

Example of CC attribution: “Title” by author, source, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Edits: Color correction/cropping.

Edits and technical adjustments

We can technically adapt images to ensure uniform presentation on the web. These measures serve exclusively for readability and loading performance, without distorting the content.

  • Crop, scale, and deliver responsively in various resolutions
  • Color and brightness adjustments, moderate sharpening, noise reduction
  • Compression and conversion into web formats (e.g. WebP, AVIF), embedding alternative texts
  • No misleading retouches, no manipulative changes to the content

People pictures, model and property releases

If people are recognizably depicted, we ensure that the necessary consents are obtained and – depending on the source – that appropriate model or property releases are provided. This applies to your own recordings as well as to licensed material.

  • Own recordings: Documented consent of the people depicted; Options for revocation are respected.
  • Stock material: Use preferably with model/property release, if necessary; Compliance with the respective license requirements.
  • Symbolic photos: Serve for illustration; no conclusions can be drawn about individual patient data or specific treatment results.

Accessibility: alternative text and image description

We strive to provide meaningful alternative texts (alt texts) for relevant images to make content accessible to screen readers. Decorative graphics can be marked with empty alt attributes to make navigation easier.

  • Alt texts describe the purpose and content of the image, not just file names.
  • Diagrams/Infographics: Core information is also presented in continuous text or in list form.
  • Contrast and readability: When combining text and images, we pay attention to sufficient contrast and scalable display.

Update this page

These image credits are continually maintained. Since individual media are marked directly on the image for practical or licensing reasons, there may be discrepancies between the embedding and this overview in individual cases. The information provided on the medium is always decisive.
